Background: Uveal autoantigen with coiled-coil domains and ankyrin repeats is a protein that in humans is encoded by the UACA gene. Component of the apoptosome complex composed of APAF1, pro-caspase-9 and UACA. In the complex, it probably interacts directly with APAF1. Interacts with LGALS3, ARF6 and ACTB UACA is a possible target autoantigen in Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH), Behcet disease (BD) and sarcoidosis that cause different types of panuevitis.
