Catalog Number: PR-1358
Background: CREB binding protein (CREBBP) is a nuclear protein that acetylates histones (giving a specific tag for transcriptional activation) and non-histone proteins (e.g., NCOA3 coactivator). CREBBP binds specifically to phosphorilated CREB, enhancing its transcriptional activity towards cAMP-responsive genes. This protein has also been reported to play a role in host-virus interactions: it binds HIV1 Tat (through KIX domain) and HTLV-1 tax and p30II.
