Background: The H3 subclass of histamine receptors mediate histamine signals in CNS and peripheral nervous system. HRH3 is a member of the GPCR family (subfamily histamine) and signals through the inhibition of adenylate cyclase. Its expression has been reported primarily in brain. ESTs have been isolated from brain (normal and cancer), breast cancer, colon cancer, and retinoblastoma libraries.
